Bone Grafting and Sinus Lifts

Severe bone loss can occur as a result of tooth extractions or advanced gum disease. A sinus lift is done when the bone of the upper jawbone is too thin to withstand an implant. Dr. Sanger is highly trained and experienced at restoring lost bone using minimally invasive techniques. She uses top-quality grafting material to stimulate bone growth and makes it possible for patients to receive implants.

Peri-Implantitis

Peri-implantitis is a bacterial infection of an implant that affects surrounding gum and bone tissue, causing it to gradually wear away. Dr. Sanger first eliminates any bacteria and compromised tissue using minimally invasive rotary and ultrasound devices. She then applies special grafting materials which restore lost bone and soft tissue and speed up healing.

Tooth & Wisdom Tooth Extractions

Dr. Sanger provides gentle and minimally invasive tooth and wisdom tooth extractions. Dr. Sanger’s approach to tooth extractions is to preserve as much of the surrounding bone as possible, setting you up for possible tooth replacement in the future. To keep you comfortable during your procedure, Dr. Sanger can provide IV or conscious sedation.

Crown Lengthening

Crown lengthening is a surgical procedure done to remove excess bone or gum tissue to enable a dental crown to be placed. Dr. Sanger may recommend crown lengthening to save a tooth whose decay runs below the gumline. She applies a special perio dressing to keep you comfortable and to promote faster healing.

Frenectomies for Lip and Tongue Tie

The frenum is a small fold of tissue that connects the lips to the jaw and the tongue to the bottom of the mouth. When this tissue is too short or too strong, it can restrict the movement of the tongue or lips. This frequently occurs in newborn babies and can make breastfeeding difficult. If left uncorrected, it can cause problems with speech, eating and overall dental health. Dr. Sanger provides gentle removal of the excess tissue that prevents proper movement of the tongue or lips.

Tooth Exposure for Orthodontics

Sometimes teeth may fail to break through the gumline and move into their natural position in the dental arch. This is known as an impacted tooth. An impacted tooth needs to be exposed so that an orthodontist can further treat the tooth and bring it to its proper position. Dr. Sanger will gently remove the gum tissue and expose the crown of the tooth, allowing the orthodontist to place a bracket on the tooth and bring it to its ideal position.
